Volunteer

For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

At Woodland Park Baptist Church, we believe that serving is one of the most powerful ways to grow in faith and build meaningful connections. Following Jesus’ example, we are called to love our neighbors and serve our community with joy. Whether you enjoy greeting newcomers, leading small groups, or working behind the scenes with technology, there is a place for you on our team!

Serve in our church

Use your unique gifts to help build the Kingdom.

God has uniquely equipped you with talents, passions, and skills to make an impact. Serving isn't just about filling a role—it’s about discovering your purpose and walking alongside others as we share God's love in Hammond and beyond.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

Getting started is simple! Fill out the Sign Up to Serve form on this page or visit the Connection Center on Sunday morning. A ministry leader will reach out to help you find an area that aligns with your passions and schedule.

How do I volunteer with kids?

The safety of our children is our top priority. To serve in our Preschool or Children’s Ministry, you'll start by filling out an application, completing a standard background check, and attending a brief safety orientation.

How do I volunteer with music?

If you play an instrument or sing, we’d love to connect with you! We offer opportunities in both our Traditional Choir (Wednesday rehearsals) and Contemporary Worship Team. Fill out the volunteer form and  our worship pastor will reach out to you to schedule an informal audition or rehearsal visit.

How do I volunteer with students?

Our Student Ministry meets on Wednesday nights during the school year and Sunday evenings at 5:00 PM. Volunteers can serve as small group leaders, event chaperones, or meal providers. Simply let us know you're interested, and our student leaders will guide you through the onboarding process.
